Absence & Illness
If it is necessary to take your child out of school during normal school hours e.g. doctor or dentist appointments, please let school know in advance (contact details below).
Explanations of absences, preferably by letter or email are needed to avoid an absence recorded as "unauthorised".
The arrangements for the start of the school day are as follows:
Key Stage 1: The doors open at 8.55am and the register is taken at 9:00am, therefore all pupils should arrive at school earlier than this to ensure they are here in time to register. Anyone arriving later than 9:00 am should call the office on 01482 631200 and the team will arrange for entry to the Key Stage 1 Building and record a late mark in the register. Please note: Staff are not permitted to allow anyone to enter the school via the classroom doors once they have been closed for registration.
Key Stage 2: The doors open at 8.45am and the register is taken at 9:00am, therefore all pupils should arrive at school earlier than this to ensure they are here in time to register. Anyone arriving later than 9.00am will enter via the main entrance and give their name to a member of the office staff who will record it in the late book.
Home Dinners: If your child goes home for dinner they must be signed out at the school office either by a member of staff or a parent. They will then be recorded as being off the premises during the whole of the lunch-time period. In the case of a fire alarm or drill they will not be accounted for at school until they are recorded as present again during afternoon registration at 1.00pm.
