School Uniform

Children wear the school colours.  The uniform gives children a feeling of identity and helps towards developing a sense of unity within the school.  A uniform also promotes the value of ‘Respect’ both for the school and for themselves.

School Uniform Orders:

There is the facility to order/buy sweatshirts, P.E. wear, reading book bags, shoes bags, polo shirts and showerproof jackets featuring the school logo through the school office.  However, there is no obligation for school uniform to be bought through school.  Uniform sold by local suppliers will suffice but obviously it will not feature the school logo.

BOOKS, BAGS AND EQUIPMENT

We are always looking to promote and support healthy lifestyles and particularly encourage our pupils to walk, scoot and cycle to school.  It is not necessary, therefore, for pupils to overburden themselves with excessive bags and equipment.  Our school also has very limited storage space and it is therefore imperative that we maximise all available areas for learning rather than wasting space by storing bulky bags during the day.

Book bags:

Reading books should be protected and respected.  To help ensure that our books are not damaged or lost when travelling between home and school we insist that all pupils use book bags.  Book bags are also useful for transporting homework, letters and money to and from school.  Please make sure that water bottles are not put in book bags as they have a tendency to leak. (NB. There is a charge of £5 for lost or damaged books!)

Book bags bearing the school logo can be purchased from the school office.

School Bags:

Children will need the following bags at school during the day:

A red book bag (to carry reading books and homework to and from school)

A small bag for indoor shoes (preferably a drawstring bag which can be kept at school all term)

A bag for their PE kit (preferably a drawstring bag which can be kept at school all term, if you wish)

Equipment:

Pupils do not need to bring any equipment to school as everything they need in the classroom will be provided for them.

Toys: Toys (including football cards) should not be brought to school unless they are part of topic work or for ‘show and tell’.
