North Ferriby CE Primary School PTA - Latest Information / Upcoming Events
North Ferriby Primary School has a thriving and successful Parent Teacher Association. We need your help to keep it that way. Last year we raised over £10,000 for the school.
Our success has recently been recognised by the National Confederation of PTAs, last year we were shortlisted for a national award in the 'Changing the life of the school' category. This relates to the difference the new Key Stage 1 mini library has already made and will make in future years. Unfortunately, we didn't win, but we can take satisfaction from the fact that there were over 70 applicants and we understand that we were the only school in this area to have been shortlisted in recent memory. This year we hope to do even better and win an award.
The PTA is an organisation made up of parents and staff who care passionately about trying to improve the working conditions and facilities for children in the school. This is achieved by arranging many fundraising events and activities during the school year. The PTA has an evening meeting in school approximately every 6 weeks, to discuss current issues and decide on how money that is raised should be allocated. Below is the list of current members as voted on at the PTA Annual General Meeting (AGM). The PTA is however, always looking for new members who are keen to help and support its work.
Committee Members 2009/2010
Getting Involved Some of the current PTA committee members/ helpers will be stepping down later this year as their children move on to South Hunsley School etc. We need a few more members and helpers to continue making a real difference to our school.
Parents and carers can be reticent about committing themselves to an organisation for fear of it becoming too time consuming. This need not be the case since every little bit of support is welcomed, whether it be helping out for an hour setting up an event or being present to help run it! As part of a team of enthusiastic and willing people who are all wanting the best for their children, it can be very rewarding and fun! We would therefore ask that anybody interested in joining the PTA or who can offer help of any kind, should please contact Juliet or any member of the committee. Alternatively, please feel free to attend the next PTA meeting!
In return there are many rewards e.g. • having fun – we organise some great events (Ball, Ceilidh, Open Gardens), • it’s a great way of getting to know others, including teaching staff, • developing organisation skills, • it’s also good for your CV! If we all give a little bit then we can make a big difference to the school.

Income and Purchases
If you are unable to help out on the PTA, please assist us in another way by attending events! School funds are very limited, which is why the PTA plays such an important role in providing those extra things to improve your child's educational needs!
